HP’s anticipated Android-flavored tablet may not end up seeing irreconcilable, sources that are close to the matter have disclosed to AllThingsD. More specifically, it is delayed and will not survive before the end of the year as planned. It is not that surprising considering the clues that we have been given so far. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer showed HP tablet prototype running Windows 7 at this year start. However, the new tablet-related announcements from Ballmer, so does not include HP in the list of hardware partners. The removal of HP from the list of hardware partners confirmed the earlier rumors that HP Slate project had been postponed. Even more noticeably, HP acquired Palm at the end of April. Expectedly, the company confirmed that it has tablets based on web operating system (Android) in the works. Given all those recent developments, it would make sense for HP to strengthen its once wide-reaching tablet operating system strategy, and should focus on building a unique tablet experience investing the unique strengths of web operating system. On the other side, experimenting with tablet prototypes that is compatible both with Windows 7 and Android, HP is keeping its option available. Rumors are still saying that Android tablet is delayed not necessarily killed, so it is still possible that HP might introduce more unique OS-inclusive approach at some time in the future. In short, HP still has chances of survival if it will improve its technology. Android tablet have many features that makes it different and popular. For example, it works with a body of software that works on multiple devices. It allows you to access many types of software that anybody can create. One may argue that iPhone application can run on iPad, but with development Android will overtake it.
